Gail Mcqueeney Todd

Charlotte Gail McQueeney Todd, 70, passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at her home in Florence, SC.Gail is survived by her husband of fifty years, T. Gene Todd. She was born on January 21, 1948, in Charleston, SC, the daughter of the late William Thomas McQueeney and the late Charlotte Simmons McQueeney.She was a 1965 graduate of Bishop England High School and the Saint Francis Xavier Hospital School of Nursing (1968).Her career in nursing spanned over 30 years. Prior to her recent move to Florence, Gail resided with her husband in Montpelier, VA and was an active member of St. Jude Roman Catholic Church. Gail was devoted to her faith and her family.She was an avid quilter, smocker, and gardener. She kept a perspective of life to be admired and warmed a room with her smile. Though the years brought her much adversity, she utilized her sense of humor and optimism to vault forward throughout.Her family is grateful to McLeod Hospice and the many people who have enriched her life. Surviving children include her sons Jason (Ruth) McCormick Todd of Columbia, SC and Thomas Ritchie (Jaclyn) Simmons Todd of Richmond, VA, and daughters Karen Elisa Todd of Walterboro, Charlotte (Robert) Todd Tilton of Florence, and Mary Elizabeth Todd of Newport News, VA.Grandchildren are Thomas William Roberts, Christopher Lawrence Roberts, Paul Michael Roberts, Daniel Robert Tilton, Charlotte Elizabeth Tilton, Katelyn Gail Tilton, Hayden Michael Todd, Madelyn Rose Tilton, and Joseph Todd Tilton.Gail is survived by seven brothers; Daniel S. (Caroline) McQueeney, Charles A. (Lynn) McQueeney, W. Thomas (Amanda) McQueeney, Jr., David P. McQueeney, F. Ritchie (Carleen) McQueeney, J. Lawrence (Yvonne) McQueeney, and Christopher M. (Samantha) McQueeney and one sister; Sharon McQueeney (Joel, deceased) Wooten. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 24, 2018, at Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Florence followed by The Rite of Committal at St. Lawrence Cemetery in Charleston at 4:00 PM.The family will receive friends at 6:30 Friday, November 23, 2018 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home, 2402 S Irby St, Florence, SC 29505, with the recitation of the holy Rosary at 6:45 followed by a Christian Wake Service at 7:00.
