Frank Liston Tomlinson

Frank Liston Tomlinson, 88, of Florence, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015. Mr. Tomlinson was born in Olanta, SC, a son of the late John Coke Tomlinson and Sallie McLaughlin Tomlinson.He graduated from Florence County Schools and attended Carolina College of Commerce and retired as a District Production Manager with Swift and Company. He was a charter member of John Calvin Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon and an Elder.Mr. Tomlinson was a Mason and a member of The Hampton Lodge and was a member of the Omar Shrine.Mr. Tomlinson was a veteran of the US Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Frank Michael “Mickey” Tomlinson; his grandson, Kevin Tomlinson; his brother, Carl W. Tomlinson and his sister and her husband, Gladys Tomlinson White and Cecil White. Surviving are his wife, Leona McDougal Tomlinson of Florence; daughter, Linda T. (Nathan) Sink of Lake City, FL; son, Stephen T. (Donna) Tomlinson of Mill Spring, NC; grandchildren, Chris Tomlinson, Ashley Sink and Audrey Tomlinson; and a great-grandchild, Amber Tomlinson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at John Calvin Presbyterian Church.Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home and from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the church on Tuesday.
