Florence Ann Phipps passed peacefully at home September 10th, 2025 to be with our Lord and Savior after a long illness.
She had been treated by a fantastic group of nurses aides, and a doctor with McLeod In-Home Hospice Care.
She joins her parents, Bud and Ann, her brother Tony, her sister Bea, Bob's parents, Claire and Paul, and Bob's sister Martha Noel in paradise.
She is survived by her beloved husband Robert (Bob), her son and his wife, Dr Noel Phipps and Dr Michele Phipps, and four grandchildren William, Catie, Forrest, and Parker. She also was loved and will be missed by her sister Mary, Michele's mother Judy Gibbs, long time Health Care Aide Jeanette and many friends and relatives.
Florence and Bob celebrated their 60 Year Anniversary Monday September 8th with breakfast, cake, balloons, and family. She graduated from Texas Wesleyan College in 1965 with a bachelor’s degree in Home Economics. Her interests included her family, music, cooking, reading, and tennis. She was a founding member of a forty-year-old neighborhood gourmet club that still exists in Savannah. She also was a volunteer teacher for first graders at St Peter's School. She sang 35 years with the Savannah Symphony Chorus and 15 years with Florence Masterworks Choir. Her gentle spirit touched countless lives.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 13th, at 2:00 PM at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
