Evelyn Rogers Morris

Evelyn Rogers Morris, 91, of Effingham, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020. Mrs. Morris was born in Hartsville, SC a daughter of the late Heyward Rogers and Janie Pender Rogers.She was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church and retired from Roses Department Store after a number of years.She was wonderful with needlework and crafting.She loved her family and her church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Quinton Morris; daughter, Wanda Morris Cox; and sister, Mary Beth Rogers Davis. Surviving are her daughter, Barbara (Timmy) Owens; son-in-law, Eddie Cox; grandchildren, Stacy Cox Threadgill of Florence, and Kimberly Owens (Addison) Brown of Aiken, SC; great-grandchildren, Austin, Katie, Ella, Reagan, and one on the way; brothers, Elbert (Betty) Rogers of Manning, and Edgar Rogers of Florence along with a number of nieces and nephews, and extended family members. Memorials may be made to Evergreen Baptist Church, 6316 Pamplico Highway, Effingham, SC29541. Friends are invited to pay their respects to Mrs. Morris from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.The family will not be present during this time. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Florence Memorial Gardens.Due to Covid-19, social distancing will be observed.
