Evelyn Justus Mills

Evelyn Justus Mills, 87, of Florence, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2014. Mrs. Mills was born in Salisbury, NC, a daughter of the late Jack and Myra Justus.She retired as a manager at AT&T after forty-three years of service.Mrs. Mills was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church for sixty-six years where she was a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Sister Bertha Circle.She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Benjamin Arthur Mills; her brothers, Donald Justus and Tommy Justus; her sisters and their husbands, Elizabeth(Herbert) Carter and Dorothy (Bert) Sitton. Surviving are her son, Eddie (Abby) Mills of Florence; two grandchildren, Barrett (Mark) Jackson and Ben (Betsy) Mills, both of Florence; four great-grandchildren, Ridgely Jackson, Snowden Jackson, Brice Fulihan and Campbell Mills, all of Florence; a brother, Robert (Diane) Justus; and sisters-in-law, Jo Justus and Margaret Justus. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 20, 2014, at St. Luke Lutheran Church.Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the Church. Memorials may be made to the Chancel Choir, St. Luke Lutheran Church, 1201 Cherokee Road, Florence, SC29501.
