Eva Ruth Finklea Burns

EVA RUTH FINKLEA BURNS FLORENCE, SC EVA RUTH FINKLEA BURNS, 69, of Florence, SC passed away, Wednesday, November 7, 2012 in a Florence hospital after an illness. Mrs. Burns was born in the Honey Hill Community of Berkeley Co., SC a daughter of the late George Walter "G.W." Finklea and Arlene Bullard Finklea.She was a member of Eastside Christian Church and retired from McLeod as an X-Ray Technician with the Florence Diagnostic Associates. Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Robert Burns of Florence; children, Sharon (Douglas) Ponte of Charleston, Elaine (Justin) Gentry of Chapin and John Burns of Florence; grandchildren, Samuel, Jacob and Matthew Ponte and Cameron and Thornton Gentry; brother, George Finklea; sisters, Adra Benton and Mary Atkinson, both of Charleston, Julia Corn and Faye Finklea, both of Lake Wateree and Linda Taylor of Kingstree and her Huntington Drive family. Memorials may be made to Eastside Christian Church, 3541 East Palmetto Street, Florence, SC29506 or to the Honey Hill Cemetery Fund, Honey Hill Community. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday, November 10, 2012 in the Honey Hill Cemetery in the Honey Hill Community of Berkeley Co., SC directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
