Ethel Streett James

ETHEL STREETT JAMES FLORENCE, SC ETHEL STREETT JAMES, 96, of Florence, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 20, 2013. Mrs. James was born in Florence Co., SC a daughter of the late Walter Mason Streett and Allie Taylor Streett.She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir and the United Methodist Women.She retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard after 33 years as a secretary.Ethel had volunteered with the American Red Cross, Trident Hospital in North Charleston and the Coastal Center in Summerville. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dan W. James and by a son, Dan Warren James. Surviving are her sons, Larry Earl (Lee) James of Wilmington, NC and Jeffrey Streett (Gelaine “Jerry”) James of Kingsland, GA; grandchildren, Larry E. James, Jr. of Texas, Steven James and Jonathan James, both of Massachusetts, Susy Branton, Dan W. James, III, Jay James and Jessica James, all of Goose Creek and Nicholas James of Colorado; a number of great-grandchildren; brother, David (Patsy) Streett of Florence; sister, Elizabeth Evans of Florence and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Friendship United Methodist Church.Burial will follow in the church cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
