ESTHER CATHRYN CHRISTMAS LAWRENCE HOUSTON, TX Esther Cathryn Christmas Lawrence, 91, of Houston, TX, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016 in League City, TX after an illness. Mrs. Lawrence was born in Marion, SC a daughter of the late William Henry Christmas and Mary Bunch Christmas.In 1947 she graduated as a Registered Nurse from the Medical College of the State of South Carolina School of Nursing in Charleston, SC.She was member of a garden club, a Women’s Bible Study group and loved painting and fishing. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry G. Lawrence, who passed away on March 29, 2006; brothers, Oral M. Christmas, George E. Christmas, Thomas Christmas and William H. Christmas and a sister, Mary Louise Christmas Baird. Surviving are her son, Harry Lawrence, Jr.; daughters, Judy Weber and Janet (Ignatius) Leonards; grandchildren, Elisa Giles, Ashley (Chris) Foster, Lacey (Shaun) Felechner, Ingram (Danielle) Leonards and Johnny (Marty) Mazzola; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Leonards, Lydia Foster and Madeline Felechner and sister, Carolyn Mathews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 30, 2016 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel with the family receiving friends 10 - 11 AM at the funeral home prior to the service.Burial will follow in the Lawrence Cemetery in Elim, SC.
