Ernestine H. "Ernie" Clark

Ernestine H. “Ernie” Clark, 91, of Florence, passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2018. Mrs. Clark was born in Bennettsville, SC a daughter of the late Whiteford Y. Hubbard and Geneva Clark Hubbard.She was a graduate of Bennettsville High School and attended the Carolina Business College of Florence.She retired in 1975 as from Dr. A.D. McCutcheon’s office as an Ophthalmic Assistant.She was the First President of the Pee Dee Ophthalmic Assistant’s Association, a former member of the Lenora Chapter OES, and a member of the Red Hat Society (The Camelia Blossom Society).She was a charter member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and member of the “Willing Workers” Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, C.B. Clark. Surviving are her son, Ronnie Clark of Darlington; daughters, Sandra C. Best and Gwen C. (David) Bryant, both of Florence; grandchildren, Jill (Brad) Wilkes, Eric Best, Summer (Geno) Avant and Chad (Crystal) Bryant, all of Florence; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, Rev. Paul (Sharon) Hubbard of Montgomery, Alabama and Richard Hubbard of Bennettsville. The family will receive friends from 2 - 3 PM Monday, October 22, 2018 at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with the service being held at 3:00 PM in the church sanctuary.Burial will follow in Florence Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
