Ernest Kenneth Hayes

Ernest “Bubba” Kenneth Hayes, 88, of Florence, SC passed away October 2, 2023. He was born in Florence County, the son of the late Holland and Minnie Earp Hayes. He retired after 27 years as a tugboat engineer for Hanover Towing, based in Wilmington, NC. He also worked with Home Field Housing for 10 years. In his early career, he farmed and worked at Electro-Motive. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Nadine Elizabeth Hayes; son, Kenneth Hayes; brothers, Earl, and JT Hayes; and sister, Lois Hayes Wise. Surviving are his sons, Tracy Dean (Susie) Hayes and Mitchell Berry Hayes; grandchildren, Hunter Dean Hayes, and Breanna Elizabeth Hayes; sisters, Vonnie (David) Turner, Jerri (Van) Fraley and Margaret Stone; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Hayes. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
