ERNEST LEROY DAVIS, JR. FLORENCE, SC Ernest Leroy Davis, Jr., 67, of Florence, SC, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2016. Mr. Davis was born in Florence, SC, a son of the late Ernest Leroy Davis, Sr. and Florence Canady Davis.He was a graduate of Southside High School, a member of the first graduating class of Francis Marion College and a mobile home sales manager.Mr. Davis was a member of Effingham Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church and a former deacon.He was a member of Hampton Lodge AFM #204, Scottish Rite (Columbia), charter member of the founding chapter of πKA Fraternity at Francis Marion University, a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans (Pee Dee) and Descendants of the Mayflower Society. He was an avid bird hunter and raised award winning hunting dogs. Surviving are his wife, Kay Richardson; daughter, Jennifer Ayers (Fred) Grainger of Florence; step-daughter, Katherine Dickerson (Donnie) McCain of Effingham; grandchildren, Taylor and Ariel Davis; sister, Harriet Davis of Charlotte, NC and niece and nephew, Kristin Summerford Grice and Ryan Summerford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Taylor Davis. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the Effingham Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 5 – 7 PM Friday night at the funeral home.
