Elwyn Levi Isgett, 82, of Scranton, SC, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2016. Mr. Isgett was born in Darlington, SC, a son of the late William Louie Isgett and Mary Frances Kale Isgett.He was a veteran of the US Navy and served four and a half years at sea.During that time, he was aboard the USS Antietam, the USS Midway and the USS Bonhomme Richard.He was a Postmaster for the United States Postal Service.Mr. Isgett was a member of Family Worship Assembly and supported International Fellowship of Christians and Jews and had a ministry of singing at the nursing homes.He was a licensed Minister. Surviving are his wife Mettie Ruth “Peggy” Miles Isgett; daughter, Tara Isgett (Joe) Rimer of Coward; grandchildren, W. Blake Benton and Ethan Jared Rimer; a special niece, Karen (John) Turner of Florence and a special great-niece, Ashley Yarborough of Effingham. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Donald Curtis Isgett; two sisters, Louise Truitt and Virginia Sims and brother, Bill Isgett, Jr. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 12, 2016, in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will follow at Bible Temple Cemetery in Coward. Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
