Elsie Mae Poston Campbell

Elsie Mae Poston Campbell Scranton, SC Elsie Mae Poston Campbell, 92, of Scranton, formerly of Pamplico, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2011 at the residence of her daughter, where she has been residing since 2004. Ms. Campbell was born in Florence County, a daughter of the late Cordie S. and Maybelle McKissick Poston.She was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church and was a very loving and caring mother. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chalmers "C.C." Cleveland Campbell; a son, Joel Campbell;a daughter, Patty Campbell; five sisters, Garthelia "Teal" Ward, Adrell "Dock" Poston, Mavin "Mick" McKissick, Carnell Matthews, Betty Poston; a brother, Johnny Poston; two son-in-laws, Karl Hovatter and Ray Moore; and a grandson, Randy Hovatter. Surviving are two sons, Hydrick Campbell of Gaffney and Kenny (Brenda) Campbell of Gaffney, SC; four daughters, Connie C. Hovatter of Sumter, Johnnie Lee C. (John David) Cantey of Scranton, Don Ella C. (Ken) Sanders of Effingham, and Judy C. Moore of Lake City; a brother, Bennie (Geraldine) Poston of Scranton; a sister, Virgie Lee McCutcheon of Scranton; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren;five great great-grandchildren and a special care-giver, Kimberly McFadden. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Prospect United Methodist Church.Burial will follow in the church cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Prospect United Methodist Church Building Fund, 834 Belle Thompson Road, Pamplico, SC 29583. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home and other times at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. John David Cantey, 3927 Lockwood Road, Scranton, SC.
