Ellison W. Messick

Ellison W. Messick, Jr., 74, of Florence, passed away from heart related issues on Friday, February 19, 2021. He was born in Marion, SC a son of the late Ellison W. Messick, Sr. and Rilla Godbold Messick.He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and had been a Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 476.He was a Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite, and was Past Master of Hampton Lodge 204.Ellison was an Oklahoma Sooners Football fan. Surviving are his wife, Joyce Parrott Messick of Florence and sons, Ellison “Tripp” W. Messick, III and his wife, Ruth, of Greensboro, NC and Ashley Garrett Messick of Richardson, TX. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 pm Monday, February 22, 2021 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 23, 2021 in the funeral home chapel.Burial will follow in Florence Memorial Gardens.
