ELIZABETH “LIB” BUIE DICKERSON Florence, SC Elizabeth “Lib” Buie Dickerson, 87, of Florence, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at her daughter’s residence after an illness. Ms. Dickerson was born in Darlington, SC a daughter of the late John Alden Buie and Margaret Parnell Buie.She had owned and operated Darlington Dry Cleaners for 62 years.She never met a stranger, loved to sit at McDonald’s in Darlington and drink coffee with her friends everyday and loved going to Atlantic City every year until her health declined. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Louvenia Buie Simon, Emma Buie Hodge and Jackie Buie Campbell; grandchildren, Lea Hunt and Kevin Brown. Surviving are her daughter, Cathy Brown of Florence; very special friend, Mike Causey of Fernandina Beach, FL; brother, James Buie of Spartanburg; sister, Sarah Twist of Orlando, FL and great-grandson, Dylan Hunt of Lamar, SC. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association for Dementia, South Carolina Chapter, 4124 Clemson Blvd. Suite L, Anderson, SC 29621. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Friday, March 27, 2015 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
