Elisabeth Rogers Caraker

Elisabeth Rogers Caraker, widow of David P. Caraker, Sr., died Tuesday, April 21, 2015, after an illness. Funeral services will be held at John Calvin Presbyterian Church on Monday, April 27, 2015, at 1:00 p.m.Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Bennettsville, SC. Visitation will be at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home on Sunday, April 26, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Ms. Caraker was born in Bennettsville, SC, the daughter of the late Francis Drake and Jumelle Haile Rogers.She graduated from St. Andrews Presbyterian College with a BA Degree in Human Relations, and later completed her Masters Degree in Education at Francis Marion University.Ms. Caraker was a member of John Calvin Presbyterian Church, past President of the Pee Dee Association of School Psychologists, a member of the SC Association of School Psychologists, a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, Honorary Sorority, and the Florence Shag Club. She was a special needs teacher for several years before becoming a School Psychologist for Florence School District One.She retired after 31 years in education. Surviving Ms. Caraker are her two children, David P. Caraker, Jr. (Kari) of Myrtle Beach and Catherine Ayer (Troy) of Lexington, SC; three grandsons, David A. Caraker, Hunter Bailey and Brandon Ayer; her brother, Frank Rogers and his wife, Eleanor.She is also survived by her friend Jim Westwood. Memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice House, P. O.
