Elarice "Coot" Mclaughlin

Elarice “Coot” McLaughlin, Jr, 69, of Effingham, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2015. Mr. McLaughlin was born in Florence, SC, a son of the late Elarice McLaughlin, Sr. and Blanche Mixon McLaughlin.He retired from Stackhouse Sheet Metal.Mr. McLaughlin was a member of Effingham Church of God. Surviving are his son, Calton (Lamanda) McLaughlin; brother, Ernest Hamilton McLaughlin; sister, Barbara Jean McLaughlin and grandchildren, Cassie McLaughlin, Kenny Schwerzler, Kelly Schwerzler and Jordan Lawson. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at Effingham Church of God.Burial will follow at McLaughlin Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the church on Friday. Memorials may be made to Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home, P. O. Box 12870, Florence, SC 29504, to assist the family.
