EDWARD JOHN ROBINSON Florence, SC Edward John Robinson, 83, of Florence, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2012 after an illness. Mr. Robinson was born in Florence, the son of the late Herbert Jarret Robinson and Mattie Tobetha Smith Robinson.He retired after twenty-nine years from the Florence Fire Department.He was a veteran of the US Army, having served in Korea.Mr. Robinson was an avid Nascar fan and fisherman and a member of Twin City Baptist Church in Hemmingway. Mr. Robinson is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carolyn Virginia Robinson; and his son, Carroll Elwood Robinson. Mr.Robinson is survived by his children, Rex (Susan) Robinson, Sr., of Florence and Terry (James) Huggins of Florence; his grandchildren, Rex (Beth) Robinson, Jr., Kim (Billy Evans) Robinson, Beau Huggins and Samantha Huggins, all of Florence; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and his sister, Vivian Ford, of Florence. Funeral Services will be held 2:00PM Monday, December 3, 2012 in the chapel of Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00PM on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice, P. O. Box 100551, Florence, SC29501.
