EDWARD CUSTIS DRUMMOND Florence, SC EDWARD CUSTIS DRUMMOND, 83, of Florence, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the McLeod Hospice House. Mr. Drummond was born in Craddockville, VA a son of the late Oscar Bernedotte Drummond, Sr. and Martha Custis Drummond.He was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church and a veteran of the US Marine Corps, “Semper Fi”, having served during the Korean War.He worked in the insurance industry with Met Life for 30 years until retirement.After retirement he enjoyed farming and his passion was his family and traveling with his wife. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 56 years, Frances Hobbs Drummond, who passed away on September 4, 2010 and by a sister, Marcelene Drummond Wilson. Surviving are his children, Patti Drummond (Terry) Fulks of Huntsville, Alabama, Mark (Kim Burkett) Drummond, Steve (Dara Lawhon) Drummond and Wayne Anthony (Kim Poston) Drummond, all of Florence; grandchildren, Heather Avins, Courtney Hudson, Cameron Fulks, Colin Fulks, Abby Drummond, Austin Drummond, Walker Drummond, Chasity Drummond and Cole Drummond; brother, Oscar B. Drummond, Jr.; a number of nieces and nephews including, Richard Hobbs, Michelle Hobbs Woodworth, Eddie Hobbs, Edward B. Drummond and Debbie Shollenberger; many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews; special friends and family, Bill and Mary Hobbs, Larry and Alice Lamereaux, Robert and Janet Elvis and Jeff and Jane Smith. Memorials may be made to the McLeod Hospice House, PO Box 100551, Florence, SC29502. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Florence Memorial Gardens directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 PM Monday, December 30, 2013 at the funeral home.
