Edward Blease Cooke

Edward Blease Cooke, 79, of Florence, SC, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016. Mr. Cooke was born in Florence, SC, a son of the late Eddie Boyd Cooke and Annie Hyman Cooke.He was a veteran of the US Army who served during the Korean War.He was the District Salesman for Norvell Restaurant Supply in Augusta.Mr. Cooke attended Pine Street Elementary School, Poynor Junior High School and McClenaghan High School.He was an avid golfer, a Georgia Bulldog fan and loved music and reading.Mr. Cooke loved his nieces and nephews.His great-nephew, Joshua Reuter and niece, Shelby Warden were very special to him. Surviving are his sister, Dotsy Dias of Florence; his brother, Richard Cooke of Anderson; and special friends, Curtis Weatherford, Dusty Davis and Jeff Hollman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Junior and James Cooke and a sister, Irene Cooke Warden. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 25, 2016 at Florence National Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
