Edith Eaddy Lambert, 90, of Florence, SC, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017. Mrs. Lambert was born in Hannah, SC, a daughter of the late Curtis Lee Eaddy and Emma Maybelle Poston Eaddy.As a child growing up in Hannah, she picked cotton, cropped tobacco and performed many other farming chores.She played basketball for Hannah School as a guard for five years.She was a nurse for thirty years before retiring in 1980.She attended Hannah School, McLeod Infirmary Practical Nursing School and Florence-Darlington Technical College. Mrs. Lambert had worked for McLeod Infirmary and Drs. Ziegler and Owens OB-GYN.She was the owner and manager of Wiener King in Darlington, SC for six years (1973-1979).She was a board member for three years for Pee Dee Singles.She attended Union Baptist Church in Hannah, SC and was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Florence, SC.Mrs. Lambert was also a lover of music and was gifted by playing the piano by ear.Gardening was a favorite hobby and she had that special touch with flowers.She loved life, loved to travel and had a heart of gold.Mrs. Lambert lived for her children and grandchildren.They were her pride and joy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Wesley Lambert; granddaughter, Amy Bray; brothers, Lucian, Doug, Capers, Heyward, Earl and twin brother, Eddie Eaddy; and her sisters, Eulee Turner, Julia Turner and Vermell Daniels. Surviving are children, Barry W (Carol) Lambert of Rock Hill, SC; James L. (Janet) Lambert of Florence, SC and Cheryl L. (Roger J.) Grier of Hemingway, SC; grandchildren, Tyler, Natasha, Jennifer, Kyle, Sarah, Ashley, Lisa and Emily; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2017, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
