Eben Dudley “Bucky” Godbold, 72, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021. Bucky was born in Florence, SC, a son of the late Earl Joseph Godbold, Sr., and Ruth Dudley Taylor Godbold. He earned two degrees from Clemson University, a B.S. in Agriculture in 1971 and a Masters in Agronomy in 1973. Throughout his life Bucky owned various businesses, all revolving around his love of the land and farming. This included Farm Chemical Supplies, LLC and Godbold Enterprises. He was an active member of Mizpah Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, and the Gideons- Florence East Camp. Bucky was a man that loved his family and the Clemson Tigers almost as much as he loved the Lord. He believed in working hard, taking care of the family God entrusted to him, and telling others of Christ’s ultimate sacrifice and saving grace. His giving heart, humble spirit, and boundless generosity made this world a little brighter. Truly, to know him was to love him. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Warren W. Godbold and Jackie B. Godbold. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of fifty years, Walker Jane Singleton Godbold; son, Mark Singleton (Angela) Godbold of Florence; daughter, Rebecca Leigh (Colan) Shiver of Jacksonville, Florida; brothers, Earl J. Godbold, Jr., and Evander W. Godbold, both of Florence; sisters, Harriett A. Witt, Nancy R. Amerson, and Alice G. Godbold, all of Florence.Also left with memories and lessons they will treasure the rest of their lives are his six grandchildren, Kailen Sierra Lowder, Mariah Caitlin Godbold, Thomas Dawson Godbold, Eben Sawyer Godbold, Caden Dudley Shiver, and Noah Richard Shiver. On Monday, February 1, 2021, the family will receive friends from 12:30 – 2:00 pm at Mizpah Baptist Church, with the service to follow at 2:00 pm in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow in the church cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
