Douglas Shores

Douglas Shores, 79, of Florence, passed away on July 20, 2021. He was born the son of the late Roy and Alice Shores. He worked as an Engineer and was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Over the years, he volunteered for the Pee Dee Chapter of the Telephone Pioneers and Howe Springs Volunteer Fire Department. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Cheryl Shores; sister, Margaret Ann Phipps; and brother, Roy Douglas Shores. He is survived by his son, Alex (Debbie) Shores of Florence; daughter, Angela “Cissy” Rene Shores of Atlanta, GA; grandson, Blake Shores; step-grandchildren; Nick (Cheryl) Sawyer of GA, and Mike (Alicia) Sawyer of GA; and step-great-grandchildren, Kaiden Sawyer, Bryson Sawyer, Michael Sawyer Jr., Garrett Sawyer, Ettalynn Sawyer, Gabriel Sawyer, and Daniel Sawyer. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, July 23, 2021, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The Service will be 2:00pm Saturday July 24,2021, at Florence Memorial Gardens.
