DOROTHY GENEVIEVE CARRAWAY TAYLOR EFFINGHAM, SC Dorothy Genevieve Carraway Taylor, 86, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2013 at her residence. Mrs. Taylor was born in Florence County, SC, a daughter of the late Burris L. Carraway and Cora Delores Broach Carraway.She attended Sounds of Victory Church in Coward, SC and had worked as a seamstress for Florence Manufacturing Company and Turner Manufacturing Company. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Gary Daniel Taylor; her son, Daniel L. Taylor; her grandson, Steven Eugene Campbell; her great-granddaughter, McKenzie Rayna Campbell; six brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Taylor is survived by eight children, Genevieve (Randy) Clayton of Batesburg, SC,Lois (Mike) Broome, James (Shirley) Victor Taylor, Charlie (Becky Driggers) O. Taylor, Jerry (Sharon) Taylor, Sr., Cecil Edward Taylor, Shelby (Lavern Poston) Taylor, and Pam Lawhon, all of Effingham, SC; two sisters, Cindy (Steve) Carnell of Pamplico, SC and Sandra (Herman) Prosser of Effingham, SC; nineteen grandchildren;seven step-grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
