DOROTHY NELL OWENS DENNIS EFFINGHAM, SC Dorothy Nell Owens Dennis of Effingham, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013, at her residence. Mrs. Dennis was born in Waccamaw, NC, the daughter of the late Boyd Owens and Leatha Jordan Owens.She was a member of Elim Baptist Church and the Sunshine Sunday School Class.She worked at Moore Middle School and Southside Middle School in the cafeteria for several years. Mrs. Dennis was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert W. “RW” Dennis; and two brothers. Surviving are her children, Angela Guffey and Scott Dennis, both of Florence; her grandchildren, Robert Guffey, Barry Guffey and Tina Watrous; a number of nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog, Toby. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Elim Baptist Church.Burial will follow at Elim Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
