Dorothy Ethelene Freeman

Dorothy Ethelene Freeman, 87, of Effingham, SC, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2016. Mrs. Freeman was born in Hartsville, SC, a daughter the late Lawton and Hettie Davis Amerson. Surviving are her sons, Coleman (Joyce) Atkinson of Darlington, Henry (Pat) Atkinson of Hartsville, and Randall (Pat) Atkinson, Mac (Mildred) Atkinson, Ralph (Vonnie) Atkinson and Roger Atkinson, all of Effingham; daughters. Jewel (Bob) Cagle and Ann (Vernon) Harris, both of Effingham and Marolyn (Gordon) Pendell of Marion; twenty-five grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, James Walker Atkinson, Sr., Granville Ward and Alston Freeman and her sons, James Walker Atkinson, Jr. and Mitchell Joy Atkinson. Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 31, 2016, at 1:30 p.m. at Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church.Entombment will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
