Doris House Pfolsgroff

Doris “Plush” House Pfolsgroff, 81, of Florence, SC, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2026 at home surrounded by family.

She is the daughter of the late Thomas House and Helen Roberts Hudson.

Doris had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved dogs, Itsy and Festus, who were truly the center of her world. She found great joy in caring for animals and was an avid cat enthusiast, even showing cats during the 1980s. She was a graduate of Mississippi State University.

She cherished her family above all, with a special place in her heart for her grandchildren. Doris also spent over 30 years living in East Texas, where she created many lasting memories and friendships.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, George Pfolsgroff; her son, Jimmy Howell and sister, Diana “Sissy” house.

She is survived by her son, Paul “Tommy” Howell; daughter, Jeri (Frank) Cockrell; grandchildren, Amber Cockrell, Jon Cockrell, Elena (Jeffrey) Dark, and Shaley Howell; great grandchildren, Adalynn Cockrell, Rory Humphries III, Mathew Humphries, Adam Humphries, Zoe Dark, and Axle Dark; and brother, Billy House.

The family is being assisted by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
