Doris Mcknight Owens

Doris M. Owens Effingham, SC Doris M. Owens, 86, died Thursday, September 12, 2013 in a Florence health care facility after an illness. Mrs. Owens was born in Florence County, SC a daughter of the late Fulton and Nemma Miles McKnight. She was a longtime member of Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church where she was the church secretary for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 66 years, James H. “Sambo” Owens, who died August 28, 2012; son, Randy Owens, who died in 1999. Surviving are her daughter, Kathy (Andy) Ward of Effingham; two sons, Tommy (Karen) Owens of Conway and Terry (Brenda) Owens of Timmonsville; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 14, 2013, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.Burial will follow at Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
