Dora Rachel Henderson

Dora Rachel Henderson Florence, SC Dora Rachel Henderson, 71 of Timmonsville, passed away Friday, April 29, 2011 in a local health care facility after an illness. Mrs. Henderson was born in Florence County, a daughter of the late Clinton Hampton and Mildred Matthews.She loved fishing and gardening. She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Tommy Carol McClam; 2 sisters, Lubby Curry and Lois Kennedy; and a brother, AC Matthews. Surviving are her husband, James Louis Henderson; four children, O'Neil (Kim) McClam of Summerton, Gwen Darwin (Larry) Sawyer of Florence, Mildred Louise Reese of Greensboro and Lois Rachel Hazelwood of Lake City; a brother, Oswald (Judy) Matthews of Hendersonville, NC; 12 grandchildren and 22 great- grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, May 2, 2011 at Byrd Cemetery, in Timmonsville, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 2210 Hoffmeyer Road, Florence, SC 29501. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
