Donny Ray Allen

DONNY RAY ALLEN, 69, of Florence, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018. Donny was born in Florence, SC a son of the late Cyril David Allen, Sr. and Marie Elizabeth Turner Allen.He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and a veteran of the US Coast Guard. He was also a member of the VFW and the Florence Elks Lodge.He loved boating, never met a stranger and was always willing to help.Donny was a compassionate and loving husband, brother and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Johnny Bruce Allen and Cyril David Allen, Jr.; sisters, Sandra Allen Edwards and Jackie Allen Hatchell; sister-in-law, Carmen Fore Allen; nephew, William David Edwards and mother-in-law, Joyce Lewis Simkins. Surviving are his wife, Ginger Simkins Allen; brothers, Jerry (Ronnie) Allen of Florence and Ronnie (Joan) Allen of Latta; sisters, Thelma Flowers Corbett and Linda (Jim) Harris, both of Florence; brother-in-law, Calvin Wells Hatchell of Florence; beloved dogs, Sweet Pea and Bebe, and numerous nieces and nephews.
