Donnie J. Hutchinson

Donnie J. Hutchinson, 74, of Effingham, SC, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

He was born in Florence, SC, the son of the late Jake Evander Hutchinson and Colee Poston Hutchinson. Mr. Hutchinson devoted 8 and a half years to serving his country in the Navy. He later worked, for 36 years, at West Rock. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and spending time with family.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Carol Hutchinson; brothers, Roger Hutchinson and Johnny Hutchinson; and sisters, Mazie Stephens, Thelma Kennedy, Jean Hanna, and Joyce Lee.

Surviving are his daughters Cathy (Tyler) Fortier and Kelly (Eric) Turner; granddaughter, Harper Fortier; sisters, Louise McBride and Gayle (Joe) Kelly and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, on Friday, July 10, 2026, at the Florence National Cemetery.
