Donald “Donnie, Jr.” Forrest Ritchie, Jr., 52, of Florence, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2018. Mr. Ritchie was born in Harrisonburg, VA a son of Juanita Roadcap Ritchie and the late Donald Forest Ritchie, Sr.He was a highly skilled diesel mechanic for over 30 years.He began his career at Peterbilt in Florence and later moved to Orangeburg and worked with Stillingers Body Shop.When he moved back to Florence, he worked at Willie’s Frame and Body.He was a devoted father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle that enjoyed spending time with those he loved.He enjoyed fishing, was very outgoing and never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his father; son, Brandon Forrest Ritchie and a brother, Wesley Alan Ritchie. Surviving are his daughter, Danielle Nicole Ritchie of Florence; mother, Juanita Roadcap Ritchie and step-father Mark “Freebird” Nix of Orangeburg; grandchildren, Jaydan Kayuan Johnson and Brandalyn Claire Gamble; brother, Richard Lee Ritchie and sister-in-law, Toni , of Florence; sister, Angela Lynn Ritchie of Orangeburg; nieces, Tristina, Makailyn, Lakely, Miranda and Faith; special aunt and uncle, Sylvia and Harry Doval of Broadway, VA and special friend, Faye Lee of Florence. The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 PM Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home chapel with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 PM.
