Donald Albert Kennedy

Donald Albert Kennedy, 72, of Florence, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014, at McLeod Hospice House. Mr. Kennedy was born in Wayne County, NC, a son of the late Isaac Kennedy and Thelma Talton Kennedy. He was a US Army Veteran, having served with the 82nd Airborne Division.Mr. Kennedy was self-employed as a long distance truck driver for twenty-five years and was an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wife, Brenda Griffin Kennedy. Surviving are his daughters, Donna Kennedy (Ronnie) Poston and Crystal Kennedy (Erik) Merrill, both of Florence, SC; his grandchildren, Madison Poston and Bentley Merrill; and his brother, Thomas Allen (Annette) Kennedy of Mt. Olive, NC. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice, P. O. Box 100551, Florence, SC29502.
