Dock Allen Benson

DOCK ALLEN BENSON, JR. FLORENCE, SC Dock Allen Benson, Jr., 82, of Florence, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2017. Mr. Benson was born in Marion, SC a son of the late Dock Allen Benson, Sr. and Racy Long Benson.He was a member of the Army National Guard and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marion.He worked at Rockwell International for 17 years until the plant closed.He then worked as a painter and musician.He was a member of the first band that played at the Sun Fun Festival in Myrtle Beach. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Beatrice Cox Benson. Surviving are his son, Philip Allen Atkinson of Marion, SC; daughters, Deborah (Sebastian) Hui and Windy (Cecil) Cox, both of Florence; sister, Nancy Poston of Marion; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
