Diane Evans Weatherford

Diane Evans Weatherford, 69, of Florence, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021. Mrs. Weatherford was born a daughter of the late Nettie Matthews Evans and Clinton Alexander Evans.She was a retired respiratory therapist and had worked with Florence General Hospital for twenty-five years and with American Health Services for five years. Mrs. Weatherford was a member of Amanda Pentecostal Holiness Church and also taught Sunday School classes there. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Charles Matthews; brothers-in- law, Charles Thomas, Sr. and Gerald Rainwater; sister-in-law, Jackie Evans; and niece, Brenda Kay Thomas. She is survived by her brother, George Evans of Greer, SC; sisters, Rose Thomas and Alma Rainwater, both of Florence; step-children, Yvette Wilkins of Spartanburg, Angel Weatherford of Florence and Ryan Steen (Michael) of Darlington; six step-grandchildren, Michelle Byrd (Bradley), Christy Smith (Patrick), Ricky Boggs, Jr., Lindsay Weatherford (Amber), James Moore (Courtney) and Abigail Steen;and three step-great-grandchildren, Caleb James, Jackson Smith and Charlotte Smith; former husband, Junior Weatherford; special friends, Melissa DeWitt, Dave Ard and Martha Wise; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will follow at High Hill Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM on Saturday at the funeral home. Due to the current COVID-19 concerns, social distancing will be observed.
