Diane Ashley Mcelveen

Diane Ashley McElveen, 72, died Friday, December 11, 2015 at McLeod Regional Medical Center. She was born July 18, 1943 in Coolidge, AZ, a daughter of the late William C. and Mildred Barmore Ashley. She was retired from Union Carbide after 23 years, and was very proud of graduating from Limestone College at the age of 42 with honors. She was a former owner and operator of Taw Caw Campground and Marina in Summerton. Survivors include her husband, Barney A. McElveen, Jr. of Lamar, SC; a son, Terry Shawn (Jan) McElveen of Lexington, SC; a daughter, Kerrie DeAnne Cordray of Lamar; two brothers, Joseph (Patia) Ashley of Florida and Charles E. Ashley of Millbrook, AL; two sisters, Sylvia (Bob) Perkins of Florence and Beth (Julian) Freeston of Sapphire, NC; grandchildren, Jessica Ashley Williams, Hannah Diane (Thayer) Gore, Shawn McElveen, & Kaitlyn McElveen; and a great grandchild, Hayden Jayce Gore. A time of reflection and visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm Monday, December 14 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home in Florence. Memorials may be made to McLeod Cancer Center, 555 E.
