Dewey William Powers III

Dewey William Powers III, 76, of Florence, SC, passed on Monday, July 14, 2025.

He was born in Florence, SC, the son of the late Dewey William Powers Jr. and Pearl Hyman Powers. Mr. Powers was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. He was an avid hunter and Gamecock fan. Mr. Powers worked as a State Farm Agent for 40 years. He loved his family dearly and was a dedicated father, grandfather and husband.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Wanda Brown and the mother of his children, Deborah Andrews Powers.

Surviving are his wife, Susan Roberts Powers, sons, Chandler Powers and Brandon Powers, step-son, Daniel (Kristin) Hudson; step-daughter, Mary Beth (Tucker) Creed; step-grandchildren, James Creed, Katie Creed, Blakely Hudson and Emma Hudson; and special cousin, Dotsy Dias.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to McLeod Hospice, P. O. Box 100551, Florence, SC 29502.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Friday, July 18, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
