Dena Greer Richardson

Dena Greer Richardson, 71, of Florence, SC, passed away peacefully in her home on October 1, 2026, after an extended illness.

Dena was born in Mullins, SC, the daughter of the late Dallas Odell Martin and Leola Graham Martin. She was lovingly raised by her father and stepmother, Ruth Scott Martin. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother whose family meant the world to her.

Dena dedicated much of her professional life to serving others as a laboratory technologist, a career she approached with care, dedication, and compassion.

Dena had a gift for making others feel loved, welcomed, and cared for. She was always willing to lend a helping hand or offer a listening ear. She found joy in caring for others and was always ready to share what she had, whether it was her time, her love, or a simple act of kindness. She will be remembered for her gentle heart, compassion for others and loving spirit.

Dena is survived by her husband, Jimmy Richardson; her son, Bryan (Kasey) Greer; her daughter, Wendi (Brian) Hobin; her sister, Sandra (Ron) Hornsby; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.

A memorial service will be held on October 10, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home, 2402 South Irby Street, Florence, SC 29505.
