Dena Elizabeth Tart

Dena Elizabeth Tart went to be with her Lord at her mother’s home surrounded by her mother and loving family on October 7, 2018. She was born in Florence, SC on December 17, 1969 and was the daughter of Elizabeth “Lib” Kirby Tart and the late Thomas I. Tart, who passed away on November 9, 2017. After graduating from Florence Christian School, she received an Associate Degree in Fashion Merchandising and Business from Florence Darlington Technical College.After many years in retail management, she went to Betty Stevens Cosmetology Institute and received her Cosmetology License.She was instrumental in starting the Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology at the Goose Creek Campus and later transferred to the Kenneth Shuler Corporate Offices in Columbia. Special thanks to the Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology for their love and support. She was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Florence. Survivors include her mother, Elizabeth K. Tart and two aunts, Annie Mae (Ralph) Broach and Jessie T. Moss; one uncle, Alton E. (Judy) Kirby and several loving cousins and a special kitty, Gracie. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 10, 2018. Funeral services directed by Stoudenmire- Dowling Funeral Home will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday in the Chapel of the funeral home.Due to current weather conditions, burial will take place at 11:00 AM Friday in Florence Memorial Gardens.
