Deloris Lamb Thompson

DeLoris Lamb Thompson, 77, of Effingham, SC, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2015. Mrs. Thompson was born in Lake City, SC, a daughter of the late Enoch Leonard Lamb and Mozelle Barwick Lamb.She was a teacher of history for 7th and 8th grade at Southside Middle School.She taught for 29 years and had a Masters Degree in Education.Mrs. Thompson was a member of Elim Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Willie Joe Thompson; her children, J. Richard (Sarah) Oliver, M.D. of Lugoff, SC and Rachel Thompson (Chris) Edge of Effingham; her grandchildren, Chelsea Oliver (Sebe) Dale, Meredith Jane Oliver, Warren Joshua Brown and Jesse Blakely Gaylord. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Elim Baptist Church.Burial will follow at Elim Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
