DEBORAH ANN GREEN EFFINGHAM, SC Deborah Ann Green of Effingham, South Carolina passed away on November 4, 2016 (her 61st Birthday) at McLeod Hospice after battling a long term illness. Memorial service will be held on Monday, November 7th at 2 PM and the family will take visitors from 1 PM to 2 PM at Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church located at 7001 Friendfield Rd Effingham South Carolina 29505. Mrs. Green was born on November 4, 1955 in Decatur, Georgia, a daughter of the late James Hubert & Frances Boyce Cofer. Mrs. Green worked at Powers Properties as a property manager before moving on to South Florence High school as special needs assistant. She then went to McLauren Elementary as special needs teacher for a very special girl, Allie Strickland. She was a member of Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church and served as a youth teacher and was also involved in teaching vacation bible school. She also worked for special needs students at Camp Rae each summer. Mrs. Green volunteered as a softball coach at Friendship park for many years before moving on to South Florence girls softball as a score keeper during their 3 state championships and commonly known as “Ma Green”.She also worked with Florence Panthers softball and Florence Panthers baseball in the same capacity. She is survived by her husband of 33 years Gary Green, daughter Ellen Green, Natalie (Mickey) Lynch, Son James (CJ) Green,son Nicholas (Katherine) Green, daughter Melissa Blackwelder (Michael Hinson) son Seth Green and 13 Grandchildren; Brianna Green, Noah, Green, Madison Lynch, Savannah Blackwelder, Mason Lynch, Jada & Jasmine Green, Joshua Blackwelder, Kyle Green, Grant Green, Bailey Green, Marley Green, Cesar Green, and her sister, Pam (Bobby) Stuart and nieces, Jennifer (Michael) Wilson and Michelle Stuart.Her grandchildren were the center of her life. She is also survived by Sadie, her canine companion.She always put others before herself and had a heart of gold.
