David Warren Price, 67, of Florence, South Carolina, died peacefully Sunday, August 9, 2015, surrounded by his family. David was born June 23, 1948, in Salem, Ohio on a dairy farm and was reared in a close-knit Religious Society of Friends community. David was the son of the late Warren Lester and Kathryn (Borton) Price. After high school, he served in the Navy as an air traffic controller in Keflavik, Iceland.Post duty, David moved to Pennsylvania and worked in the carpet industry for many years before owning an independent shipping and mailing business in Bethlehem, PA. In 2010, David and his wife moved to South Carolina and worked in the frame shop at Hobby Lobby. David was married to Ruth Wittmann-Price for thirty years last November.David loved to read, watch the Phillies, play cards with friends, and go on seaside trips with his family, where he would stake out the best spots before anyone else woke up. David was an amazing father who leaves his children a life-time of memories.His children will think of him every time they see a favorite book, pick up a baseball, pitch a tent, build a sand castle, play a board game, or put together a puzzle. David is survived by his wife Ruth, his sister Linda French of Salem Ohio, and his children, Rachel and Daniel Moyer of Glenside, PA, Samuel Price of South Philadelphia, and Rosemary Price of Center City Philadelphia. In the Quaker tradition of service to mankind, David has donated his body to science. Final internment will be a naval burial at sea. In lieu of cards and flowers, contributions can be made to the Felician Center so Sisters Susanne, Johnna, and Jackie can continue to feed, clothe, teach, and provide healthcare to South Carolinians.
