David F. Newton

TSgt David F. Newton, United States Air Force (Retired), age 90, passed away on June 25, 2026.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Burial, with full military honors, will follow at Florence National Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Born on March 20, 1936, on his family farm in Marlboro County, South Carolina, the son of Raleigh Robert Newton and Crystal Odom Newton.

David proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring after 20 years of dedicated service. During his military career, he traveled extensively throughout the world.

He enjoyed good food, music, and keeping up with the latest technology. He was exceptionally tech-savvy and was a talented handyman and electronics technician.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Newton, a sister, Wynona Ward and three brothers, Bob Newton, Travis Newton and Bubba Newton

He is survived by his children, Andrew Newton, John Newton and his wife, Donna, James Newton and his wife, Roseann, Lynda Mazzone and her husband, Tony; his brothers, Marcs Newton and Paul Newton; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
