David C. Langston

David C. Langston, 84, of Florence, SC passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017 at his residence. David was born December 30, 1932 in Florence, SC, a son of the late Lide Langston and Aline Gasque Langston. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church, the Outreacher Sunday School Class and the Blood Drop Ministry. David loved music and was a former member of the Southside Baptist church Choir. Mr. Langston loved his church and served in every role he was needed without hesitation. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Randall Lide Langston; brother, Gerald G. Langston; and sister, Virginia L. Anderson. Survivors include his wife, Iris Johnson Langston of Florence; daughter, Donna (Evan) Palmer of Anderson, SC; sister, Margaret L. (Trellis) Carter of Florence; two grandchildren, Rachel (Ryan) Young and Tresco Shannon; and great-grandchild, Iris Gourdin Young. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Southside Baptist Church conducted by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Elim Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service at the church and other times at the residence.
