David Bennett Hicks

David Bennett Hicks, 76, of Florence, SC, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2017. Mr. Hicks was born in Florence County, a son of the late Eva Marie Reddick Hicks and Samuel Thad Hicks.He was a member of Florence Baptist Temple and a former member of Pamplico Pentecostal Holiness Church. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers, John Henry Hicks and Leo “Red” Hicks. Mr. Hicks is survived by his brothers, Harry Lee Hicks (Harriett) of Charlotte and James “Jimmy” Richard Hicks (JoAnna) of Florence; sisters, Dottie Sutton Barber of Charleston, Dorothy Campbell Smith (Leo) of Pamplico, and Doris Ronk (Vince) and Joyce Marie Hicks, both of Florence; sister-in-law, Yvonne Hicks and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will follow at Hicks Cemetery in Coward, SC.
