David Charles Price

David Charles Price Florence, SC David Charles Price, 74, of Florence, died Friday, October 21, 2011 in the McLeod Hospice House after an illness. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 24, 2011 at St. John's Episcopal Church. Burial will follow in Florence Memorial Gardens Cemetery with full military honors. Mr. Price was born in Florence, SC a son of the late Calhoun David Price and Sarah Smith Price Marino. He was a U.S. Airforce veteran of 20 years, having served during the Vietnam War. He was a 1979 graduate of Texas Christian University with a Bachelor of Social Work and Criminal Psychology degree. He was former director of the American Red Cross, G.S.A., Ft. Worth, TX and Former Director of Mayor's Council on Youth in Terrant Co., Ft. Worth, TX. He retired in 2000 from the State of South Carolina as Administrative Judge for the Department of Public Safety. He was a member of the Mason's and St. John's Episcopal Church in Florence. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Ernie Price and a granddaughter, Brianna Yowell. Surviving are his wife, Carol Jones Price of Florence; 5 children, Timothy Price and Joseph (Laura) Price both of Florence, Connie Price Yowell of Coral Springs, Florida, Janette Price (Tommy) Baklio of Ft. Worth, Tx., David (Dianne) Price of Florence; sister, Susan Price of Florence; 2 granddaughters of Tallahassee,1 grandson of Coral Springs, 1 granddaughter of Surfside Beach,2 grandsons of Ft. Worth, 2 granddaughters of Ft. Worth, 1 granddaughter of Florence, 1 grandson of Florence, 3 great-grandchildren of Ft. Worth and 2 great-grandchildren of Florence. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice House, P.O.
