Daphne Juliene Henderson Connelly

Daphne Juliene Henderson Connelly, 86, of Florence, SC passed away Sunday, April 12, 2026.

Daphne was born in Saluda, SC, the daughter of the late Lucille Hyler Henderson and Floyd Henderson.

She was a proud graduate of Saluda High School and the University of South Carolina, later earning her first master’s degree from the University of Georgia. She went on to receive a second master’s degree from Clemson University. A dedicated educator, she taught in schools across South Carolina and Georgia until her retirement from Anderson School District 5 in 1990. She was also a faithful member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Saluda, South Carolina.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Talbot Henderson.

Surviving are her husband, James “Jim” C. Connelly; and sisters-in-law, Rev. Jaqueline Connelly, Jeanette Connelly, and Jennifer “Jo” (Fred) Smith.

The funeral service will be 10:00 AM Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Stoudenmire-Dowling with the family receiving friends following the service. Burial will be at 2:30 PM at Travis Park Cemetery, Saluda SC.
