CORA LYNN BAKER MOORE FLORENCE, S.C. CORA LYNN BAKER MOORE, 89, of Florence, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013 in a local hospital after an illness. Mrs. Moore was born in the Hebron Community of Florence County, SC, a daughter of the late Frendly Clinton Baker and Elizabeth McElveen Baker.She was the valedictorian of her high school class and an avid basketball player.Mrs. Moore was a member of Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church where she taught the Nursery Sunday School for many years.She served as grandmother to her church and community.She also worked at Moore’s Grocery with her son and daughter-in-law for years. She is preceded in death, in addition to her parents and her step-mother, Frances Moore Baker, who raised her after her mother’s death, by her husband, Ernest Guy Moore, Jr.; her sons, Carl Moore, Bill Moore; and Charles Moore and his wife, Lisa Moore; and three brothers, Ray Baker, Gerald Baker and Kenny Baker. Surviving are her children, Carolyn (Keith) Ard, Guy (Carol) Moore, Larry (Stephanie) Moore, Don (Phyllis) Moore, and Stoney (Maggie) Moore; her sisters, Faye Smith, Juanita Askins, Libby Parker, and Mae Baker; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
