CONNIE LEE FREEMAN TIMMONSVILLE, SC CONNIE LEE FREEMAN, 86, widow of Judd E. Freeman, Died Thursday October 20, 2016 at her home . Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Elim Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 PM Sunday in the church sanctuary. Mrs. Freeman was born in Florence County, a daughter of the late Troy Columbus Lee and Lillian Kirby Lee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Judd E. Freeman, a son, Ronald Judd Freeman; her brothers, Wilbur and Warren Lee and sisters Helen Chapman and Elsie Stackley. Surviving are her daughters, Connie Dean of Florence; Betsy Freeman of Little River and a son, Phil Freeman of Timmonsville; grandchildren; Tonya Bayliff of High Point, NC, and Ronald Justin Dean of Boulder, CO; great-grandchildren; Julius and Tyler Bayliff; sisters in law; Elma Lee of Coward and Gerry Hood of Florence. Mrs. Freeman Graduated from Coker College in 1950 and began her teaching career at Elim High School, and also taught at Bonair School, Tans Bay, Southside Jr. High and later with the Timmonsville Adult Education Center. She loved the Lord and was honored to teach Sunday School Classes from the youth all the way up to the Dorcas Class at Elim. She was often known as the Class Clown because of her quick wit and sense of humor. The family wishes to express special thanks to her caregiver, Katherine ( Kathy) Hickey and to the staff of McLeod Hospice ; Donna Ross and Sue Jernigan, RN’s and also Ruby Hunter for their loving care and guidance.
