Claudine McLeod Edgerton Florence, SC Claudine McLeod Edgerton, 92, of Florence, died on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the McLeod Hospice House. Mrs. Edgerton was born in Clarendon Co., a daughter of Claude Robert McLeod and Minnie Geddings McLeod.She received the Registered Nurse Degree from the McLeod Infirmary School of Nursing in 1941 and worked at the McLeod Infirmary and the McLeod Memorial Medical Center from 1941 until the 1980’s.She was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church in Florence. She is preceded in death in addition to her parents by her husband, John William Edgerton III; two daughters, Minna Edgerton Clark and Claudine Edgerton Furr; and a sister, Faye McLeod Edwards. Surviving are her daughter, Gail Edgerton McDowell; her son, John William Edgerton IV; her brother, Earl McLeod; two sisters, Ethel Robinson and Willie Jordan; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 20, 2013 at Florence Memorial Gardens directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.Following the service, the family will receive friends and family at the home of Gail McDowell, 3479 Claude Douglas Circle, Forest Lake West, Florence, SC.
